Our Guest House accommodation is just minutes away from Port Elizabeth’s immaculate blue flag beaches – Hobie, Pollock and Kings Beach which offer surfers, beach babes and families a place to catch a wave, spread out their towels and catch up on their tans or their reading.
The Humewood Golf course, one of the world’s most challenging link courses, and is just across the way from our bed and breakfast, accommodation in Port Elizabeth.
The Cape Recife Lighthouse is situated on the south entrance to Algoa Bay; it is one of South Africa’s most iconic lighthouses, with it holding a profound amount of history due it being used to warn ships about our treacherous Thunderbolt Reef, fortunately this heritage rich site is just a stone throw from our bed and breakfast.
The guesthouse is close to the Boardwalk Casino and entertainment complex and is minutes away from the local Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and Technicon.
Great news is our Bed & Breakfast is a scenic 10 minute drive from the city centre where exploring the Donkin Heritage Trail allows visitors to get to know Port Elizabeth on a more personal level, it is a 5km trail that links 47 national monuments and historical sites in Central, an area in Port Elizabeth, and it is named after the acting governor of the Cape Colony at the time, Sir Rufane Donkin.
Our Bed and Breakfast Guest House is only an hour’s drive from the Addo Elephant Park, which is home to over 550 elephants and is the third largest National Park in South Africa, escape to the bush and spend hours exploring the pristine Eastern Cape landscape for wildlife in a malaria free zone.
Kragga Kamma Game Reserve is located just outside the city centre and only 20 minutes from our guesthouse. It is a small reserve that’s home to free-roaming buffalo, giraffe, zebra, nyala and bontebok, amongst others. Visitors can choose to drive in their own vehicle or take a two-hour guided drive through the park.
Tourists are encouraged to take a quick 15 minute drive from our guesthouse accommodation into the townships of Port Elizabeth, where they can mix and mingle with the locals and step into a cultural rich world that many tourists may not have experienced before. Tourists can then taste home-brewed beers at a shebeen and eat a traditional Xhosa meal.
